As one of the voices of Formula 1 in the United States, Steve Matchett’s name is synonymous with intelligent, witty commentary on a myriad of topics. Tying his experiences in the paddock with his recent adventures in writing and publishing three successful books, Steve provides listeners with the opportunity to learn more about the hidden side of both of these worlds.


Career Highlights

On and Off the Track

1990-1998: Race mechanic with Benetton F1. During this time, Benetton captured two Drivers’ Championships (Schumacher in 1994 and 1995) and the 1995 Constructors’ Championship.

1998-2008: Technical Editor, F1 Racing Magazine.

2000-2012: Race broadcast commentator with SPEED. United States Formula 1 fans automatically associate Steve’s voice with SPEED’s F1 coverage, as he’s provided unique technical insight and intelligent humor to race broadcasts since his first day with the team.
